Apartment refurbishment

A refurbishment in the Borne neighborhood converts an apartment with several small and dark spaces into an open space filled with natural light.

The starting point was to tear down the walls to get a big open space filled with natural light. The existing wooden beam structure was reinforced with metallic beams while the floor, in a very bad shape, was leveled with a concrete, continuous pavement, maintaining an area of the existing hydraulic tiles. The old, aluminum windows were replaced by the original wooden ones and the interior carpentry was restored.

A modern and functional bathroom and an open and contemporary kitchen complete this renovation.

A wooden piece of furniture separates the night and day areas, letting the structure pass above in order to give a unity vision of the space.
